milage fail and clearance finds

I have not been keeping up with my walking/running.

I have been waking up really early on the weekends- before 7. Maybe I go to bed too early.

I have a lot of paperwork I should get done this weekend, but of course I don't want to do it and they are talking about a little bit of snow next week which adds to my paperwork (praying for no snow and just rain)

Got some good deals at Jcpennys clearance sale yesterday. 2 babies legging and 2 osh gosh jumpers they were each 1.40 each, I figure that is close enough to garage sale price I can stock up for baby showers, our future babies. I also got 2 shirts for me that were 4.80 each. I am not sure why people don't like Jcpenny there I am a huge bargain shopper and ever since they went to this new pricing thing I have gotten some amazing deals. I have found clothes there for me for 2 dollars each, lots of baby clothes for 2 dollars each. I used to no shop much at Jcpenny but now that I can get such cheap clothes I shop there often. Now that they did the additional 30 percent off it is making the deals even better. Hopefully the deals stay good. I am upset however they discontined the husbands jeans. He only wear the Arizona carpenter jeans in 36 long and has worn them for years and they were cheap and good quality now they don't sell them. He is 6'6 so we have trouble finding him jeans long enough in the store.

Goals Dog Training and Running

So we have a dog in need of some serious training- I did the stupid thing of picking the shelter puppy that was cowering in his crate the dog they say to never pick because they will have fear issues- but his brother was all over you biting and Eli was so calm and cuddly. Anyways he of course has major fear issues that have not gotten any  better and may have gotten worse. He has food aggressive problems, is afraid of men, barks at people walking and biking by our house (he is trained on an electric fence). He knows the commands sit, stay, shake, and come (but come only happens when he is inside and even then it is not always). The list of things we will be working on:
1. food and territory (territory is rare)  aggressiveness
2. coming when called outside
3.  greeting strangers
4. not barking at strangers
5. not playing biting
6. not jumping on strangers

The list two are not big problems and do not happen frequently. I am giving my self 50 days of dog training to see how many of these things he can make progress on before we have to hire a professional maybe? (note we did go to a dog trainer about his food aggressiveness for a 45 minute private session but only mildly helpful) also the 50 days are not going to be consecutive, hopefully i can stick to training at least 3-4 days a week

Day 1: 15 minutes of working on coming inside and out and while playing did excellent with this however he was very sleepy because he just woke up from a nap so prob contributed to success

Goal 2 is 50 days of running to get to 100 miles which will be consecutive, but I don't have to run everyday I just have to reach 100 miles in 50 days. I am counting yesterdays run as day 1 because I thought of this idea during yesterdays run on like the first or 2nd loop.

So Day 1: 11.5 miles
Day 2. No running very sore
Total: 11.5

11.5 miles

So I went for a run today and basically kept on running till I could run no more to see how far I could go. I did about 11.5 miles, I did my normal 2.85 loop 4 times.

1st loop: 32:10 with dog and ipod
2nd loop: 29:45 without dog and ipod
3rd loop: 30:30? tried bringing the dog again and he was too tired so brought him back/ with ipod
4th loop: 43-44 minutes ipod died shortly into run

I think my overall time was about 2 hours and 14 mins the 1st and 2nd loop were almost all running the 3rd was still more running then walking the last loop was mostly walking. My legs are very sore and that was what was holding me back from going further, but still glad I can run that far after not running more then 4 miles for years and my running over the last couple of years has been very little.

15-20 pounds heavier than high school or college?

I was a runner in high school, cross country, indoor track, outdoor track, joined the cross country team in college and by the time indoor track rolled around I decided I hated college running and quit the team. The rest of college I was pretty good about going to the gym or outside regular with my roomate or by myself to run. However once I moved back home, the running gradually dwindled to only occasionally running I would get on a running "streak" and run for 2 weeks and then not run again for a month or more. This has been going on ever since- 4 years later. Add in the fact that my bf now husband has bad eating habits/loves to eat out and my lack of cooking skills or desire to cook and now I am 15-20lbs heavier- still thin by most people standards, but most of my once favorite pants do not fit and I am sick of it. So I am going to try to live a healthier less processed life style, and run more. Not only because it makes me thinner because it also makes me feel happier and more accomplished.
